We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Full-stack Engineer to join our team on an annual contract basis. You will take charge of a well-structured project featuring a jQuery front end and a Java EE back end, organised into clear domains (approval, auto, users, documents, location, email, etc.). This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to drive complex changes across the stack.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of new features and enhancements across both front-end and Vback-end systems.

• Oversee and implement database design, optimisation, and migration strategies.

• Integrate with external systems (e.g., OEMs) and manage complex data flows.

• Develop and maintain front-end components using JavaScript and jQuery, with a focus on jqGrid, form handling, error handling, and UI/UX best practices.

• Architect and maintain Java EE back-end services, following MVC patterns (controllers, models, servlets).

• Ensure code quality, maintainability, and scalability, especially when working with large data sets.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, plan sprints, and deliver solutions.

• Mentor junior developers and foster a culture of technical excellence.

• Conduct code reviews and high-level code investigations to ensure best practices are followed.

• Generate and maintain technical documentation and reports.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional experience as a Full-stack Engineer.

• Proven leadership experience, with the ability to take charge and drive projects forward.

• Strong expertise in Java EE (controllers, models, servlets, MVC architecture).

• Advanced proficiency in JavaScript and jQuery, including jqGrid.

• Solid experience with database design, optimisation, and migration.

• Experience integrating with third-party systems and APIs.

• Deep understanding of front-end form handling, error handling, and UI/UX principles.

• Demonstrated ability to optimise and scale applications for large data sets.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Additional Requirements

• Automotive or warranty/recall domain experience (VIN workflows).

• Experience with Eclipse, email templating/notifications, scheduled jobs.

• Performance tuning for data-heavy grids and reports.
