Job requirements

Location: Kenya

Contract Type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Engagement Length: 6 - 12 Months

Years of Experience: 5+ years of experience

Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Certifications: Advantageous

Work Model: Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote)

Key Skills:

Deep expertise in vanilla PHP (full stack)
Strong experience with Vue JS (full stack)
Proficient in Golang (back-end)
Experience designing and building scalable, high-performance web applications
Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and modern software architecture
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to manage and mentor a team of intermediate developers

Responsibilities:

Lead the design, development, and deployment of full stack applications using PHP, Vue JS, and Golang
Architect and implement scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
Mentor and manage a team of intermediate developers, fostering growth and best practices
Conduct code reviews and ensure high standards of code quality
Troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain existing systems
Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies

Requirements:

5+ years of professional experience in software development
Proven track record with vanilla PHP, Vue JS, and Golang
Experience managing or mentoring software development teams
Strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
